In accordance with the “International Coastal Cleanup” led by the Ocean Conservancy, the local government, NGOs Eco-Tiras and Water Lily and Peace Corps Volunteers Ethan Clime and Kate Hanes will be supporting energetic adults and youth interested in cleaning up the Dniester River in the district of Rezina.

September 28th falls in the three-week timeframe where across the world volunteers unite with the Ocean Conservancy in preserving all types of waterways. If you would like to learn more, visit their website at http://www.oceanconservancy.org/.

This is the only event listed with the Ocean Conservancy that is to be held in Eastern Europe. Eco-Tiras has provided a cash donation for gloves and durable garbage bags for this event as well as informational material for youth to learn more about waterway conservation. The local government of the city of Rezina has been supportive of the idea that was generated from the NGO Water Lily after hearing about the International Coastal Clean Up and is excited to see the positive results of everyone’s efforts on September 28th. If interested in volunteering, please come to the House of Culture in Rezina at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 28th. We welcome everyone to participate!
